Holly Wollesen AM, LCSW

My Journey: My interest in mental health began through curiosity about human experiences, connection, and resiliency. I pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013. Before attending graduate school,  I worked with adults in multiple mental health settings such as a group home, primary care clinic, and community-based outreach. To further my knowledge, I obtained a master’s degree in Social Work in 2020 from the University of Chicago. During my graduate internship at a private practice, I deepened my understanding of trauma informed practices to help clients live authentically. Following completion of my graduate studies, I worked at a non-profit providing individual therapy and group therapy services and I continue to hone my clinical skills in an outpatient setting.

Clinical Approach:  My approach is trauma informed and integrative, drawing from Mindfulness-based approaches, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems, and somatic experiencing. This means I work with both emotions and the body, building practical coping strategies, and gently exploring patterns or experiences that feel important to you. Therapy can look different from session to session; sometimes focusing on skill-building or grounding, other times centered on processing, reflection, or simply having a place to be heard. My clinical interests are in treating individuals with trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, grief and loss, gender identity, women's issues, work/life stress, self esteem, and relationship issues.

My Interests: I enjoy running, biking, and walks in nature. I am always looking out for my favorite bands in town for concerts. I also spend my time trying new restaurants, playing video games, reading, playing board games,  playing DND, and traveling! I try to spend as much time as I can with my dog, Luna.
