Frequently Asked Questions

  • In our first session, we discuss your story, experiences, and hopes for therapy. During the session, the therapist will ask a wide range of questions to understand your concerns, relevant history, and start building a trusting therapeutic relationship.

  • Yes! Federal and state law prohibit therapists sharing anything without your written permission and consent. There are some ethical and legal limitations to that rule that we will discuss in our first session.

  • We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois PPO and Aetna.

  • No. We do not precribe medications or have psychiatrist on staff, but we can refer you to one if we think it would benefit your mental health and progress.

  • Currently, we do not have in person sessions and only provide telehealth services.

  • We do not provide an on-call emergency answering service. On nights and weekends, you may leave a voicemail or send an email, but we may not respond until regular office hours. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

  • If you need to miss an appointment, we require at least 24 hours of notice; otherwise, you will be charged the full fee for your appointment.
